About The Event
The name of the event “Dust Off Your Soul” comes form a quote by Pablo Picasso “Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life” . That dust can sometimes become such a painful burden that people chose to end their life. If art can help to lighten that burden then artists have provided a possiblity for hope and renewal. By bringing art and Toronto Distress Centre together we endeavor to create such a possibility. Distress Centre, through their 24 hour help line provides a connection to a team of volunteers that are there to listen – and maybe clean some dust off a lonely soul. By contributing to this event – either as an artist, patron or volunteer you are coming together to make a difference.
Dust Off Your Soul is a third party event and as such cannot offer tax receipts. We hope that your enjoyment of the evening and the knowledge that all net proceeds from the evening are donated to Toronto Distress Centre will encourage you to participate.
Esme Hurst and Annie Gaudrealt are board members for Toronto Distress Centres. If you have any questions regarding DOYS please don’t hestiate to contact Esme at esme@rogers.com or Annie at annieg@briobrands.com.
